A Gallery of Obidos, Estremadura and Ribatejo, Portugal

Obidos is an hour south of Coimbra by road and has been listed as one of the seven wonders of Portugal. The old walled town, referred to as “The Wedding City” after King Afonso V was married there, was largely destroyed during the great earthquake of 1755, but has since been rebuilt, still maintaining the medieval feel it once had.
