A busy and popular area of central Lisbon full of busy traditional cafes and cake shops and home to Praca Dom Pedro IV also known as Rossio – the massive square topped by the beautiful 19th century Teatro Nacional de Dona Maria II.
Calc da Garcia, 6
A gorgeous guesthouse with a stunning tiled entrance located just off a steep street near Praca Dom Pedro IV (Rossio). The rooms are simple but for atmosphere, location and price – Pensao Geres is superb. All rooms have showers.
Rua das Portas de Santo Antao, 99
Great value residence with clean rooms on this busy street. Some rooms have bathrooms; some don’t have windows. Street noise is possible.
Pr dos Restauradores, 24
If you would rather self cater these studios and apartments are located in a former theatre. If you are lucky enough to get an apartment on the ninth floor then you’ll appreciate the fantastic views. All accommodation contains mod cons such as satellite TV, microwaves and dishwashers.
A very central hotel (hence the prices) that has good and comfortable rooms. The bar affords some great views. Expect some street noise due to the location.
