On a big ambient square in the El Born area of Barcelona. Alsur is a modern restaurant with a diverse and interesting menu.
Outside there are many tables where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine or occasional rainshine beneath giganormous parasols. Further seating is available inside and additional seats for two have been created in the insets of the windows. These are lined with Turkish style cushions. The perfect spot to sit alone with your dog, an interesting friend or a dirty book whilst you sip green tea.
The menu at Alsur is about as refreshing as it could possibly be. Fresh juices, smoothies, delicious sandwiches, and a selection of herbal teas, light dishes, brunch and the kind of scrumptious desserts you don’t know whether to eat or rub all over your naked body. Delightful carrot cake. Delicious lemon cake. For vegetarians there are a number of options including massive sandwiches, a number of salads and a stir-fried vegetable and rice dish. The menu includes a wide choice of global food at ok prices.
The staff are exceptionally friendly without touching you inappropriately, which is sometimes a waste. The presentation of the food is unbeatable.
Great place for breakfast, brunch or to sop up the hedonistic Catalonian nightlife. Any bloody time really.
A dog-friendly outdoor terrace, a creative tasty menu and free wi-fi. I wish I was there right now.
