Breakfasts consist of English breakfasts (fried everything) or Spanish breakfasts (bread with tomato, ham, omelette and cheese) or continental breakfasts (toast, marmalade, muesli, butter, croissant, organic yogurt and fruit). These cost between €5.50 and €6.00.
There are also a number of –on-toast options eg butter and marmalade; tahini with marmalade (que?); olive oil with brewer’s yeast (do they mean Marmite?); tomato, garlic and olive oil; or scrambled eggs. Costs vary between €2.25 and €3.50.
If you’re after a more healthy option then you can have home-made muesli with fruit, orange juice, soya milk or fruit. Costs are between €2.25 and €3.50.
There are vegetarian sandwiches (boccadillos) such as the vegetarian (cunningly titled) which involves avocado, tomato and some saucy peppers (that’s what they say); or a capresse with tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese. Or a Cabra which involves an amalgo of goat cheese, honey, rocket and pine nuts. There is a hot vegetarian sandwich with melted brie, avocado and tomato. Sandwiches are between €3.50 and €4.
They have a range of teas such as gun powder, pu-erh, jasmine and fresh mint. You can also get a carrot, pineapple, orange, pear or apple juice here. Juices are €2.25. Or a milkshake made with organic yogurt .
The night time menu generally has some good vegetarian options such as mushroom risotto, goat cheese lasagne, and a goat cheese salad. The prices are around €8 for a main course but the quality of the food is great.
It’s a trendy neo-hippy vibe with an even trendier staff who are fast, sharp andnot that friendly. A colourful and relaxed environment during the day that turns to funk in the evenings when the DJs turn up to play their noisy sets.
Great for breakfasts if you don’t mind trendy. They used to have a big outdoor terrace that looked onto the back of La Boqueria – this has disappeared somewhere.
