Best Campsites in Spain part ii

Camping La Isla Picos de Europa – Potes, Cantabria

A second entry for Potes. Just two and a half kilometres from the center of the town, Camping La Isla is a wee site occupying a place next to the Rio de Deva.

The site has a delightful little bar that looks on to the river and the site supplies shade in the form of walnut trees, that drop on your head like bullets when mature.

Camping El Chorro, Andalucia

A heavenly campsite with great pitches for campervans and RVs facing the reservoir or huddled in the woods for tents. You feel like you are camping in Canada, although with markedly less grizzly bears or Canadian people.

We were the only people (and doggy) on this site as we arrived there the day before it closed for Autumn. It’s nothing more than a large field but the location is as pretty as a picture. There is no internet here, no shop and English isn’t spoken, but as an idyllic hideaway in a tiny part of completely unspoiled Spain – it’s divine. Oh and we had the best showers here that we’d had in any campsite (or anywhere else for that matter) in Spain.

Camping El Redondo – Fuente de, Picos de Europa, Cantabria & Asturias

A perfect little campsite hidden away in the midst of a natural park. Divine location with basic facilities near Fuente De.  Absolutely idyllic.
