Buying electrical goods in Barcelona, Catalonia
Much as I love The Brave Little Toaster, I find shopping for electrical homeware a nut ache, so here’s a few stores where you can get the chore done quickly while causing as little pain to your soul as possible.
In Spanish, electrical household items are referred to as electrodomesticos. Here are the best places I’ve found (in the centre of Barcelona) to pick up electrodomesticos:
Avinguda Diagonal, 3, C.C. Diagonal Mar, 08019 Barcelona
MediaMarkt sell everything from televisions to telephones to hair straighteners, computer components, media, cameras, washing machines and food processors.
Ronda Sant Antoni, on the corner of Casanova 08011 Barcelona
In the old PC City premises, Worton sells heaters, cameras, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, coffee makers, memory sticks and media and freezers and quite a lot in between.
Ronda Sant Antoni 66. Barcelona, 08001 Barcelona
Just over the road from Worton on Ronda Sant Antoni, Miro has a similar range of electrical products.
Fnac is one of the more pleasant electrical shops to go in, mainly because their range is more computers, cameras, telephones and audio visual items. Who knew computers were more interesting than hoovers?
Centro Comercial El Triangle
Plaza Catalunya, 4
