Avinguda Papa Luna
Camping Eden in Peniscola, Valenciana is a well laid out camp site run under a strict regimen. We were informed that if we fed the cats or let Sweep off the lead at any time we would be ejected from the site. Furthermore, if we checked out after 12pm we’d have to pay another full day’s rates.
Clearly the incentive was to tow the line.
Once checked in, handed our security key and through the security gate we ambled round to our pitch at the back of the site.
On the way through we noticed how many English, Dutch and German campers had taken up residence at he site. This is the norm at this time of year apparently.
Camping Eden features two sites either side of the road, both with two sets of washing, showering and toilet facilities each. The showers were powerful and hot while the toilets were clean and well maintained.
Perhaps the biggest selling point is Camping Eden’s close proximity to the beach. Situated 200 metres from the golden sands of Peniscola’s extensive beach front the site is perfect as a cheap sunshine retreat.
They offer Wi-Fi at a cost (like many sites these days) and have washing machines too, also at a cost.
The nearest shop is on the corner of the street so you don’t have to wander far for groceries.
At night Camping Eden is quiet although whether that will remain the case in the next few months remains to be seen, but, for the spring time it’s an excellent site for those who like a little culture mixed with their beach.
