Camping Jardin de las Dunas is the second most reasonably priced camp site in the Tarifa area and is well placed by Playa de Valdevaqueros and Las Dunas (sand dunes) making it a great base for adventures on land and sea.

Playa de Valdevaqueros is a popular destination with wind and kitesurfers while the dunes make and excellent spot for quad biking and pony trekking.

The camp site itself is neatly laid out and offers some shaded spots for those who sensibly try to avoid direct sunlight in the baking hot months of June through September, while cabins and smaller pitches are available to suit other tastes.

Prices, as mentioned previously, are very reasonable for a beach front camp site and the summer months will set you back around 25 euros per night including electricity. That may not seem reasonable for a camp site bu when you compare it to some of the neighbouring sites which cost 10 euros more, the value starts to stack up.

During low season the site is the cheapest in the area and a night in one of their plots will cost you just 14 euros.

Camping has become expensive business since it became so popular. Ironically demand does not mean lower prices.

The facilities at Camping Jardin de las Dunas are pretty good with plenty of hot showers to go around and several toilet blocks, all meaning you don’t have to crawl very far for that pre-dawn tinkle or a scoot back to you tent/van/caravan/cabin in your towel.

The bar at the entrance is open to the public and they have free wi-fi there. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially in overcoming the language barrier that I still shamefully struggle to deal with.

For dog owners, Camping Jardin de las Dunas is not a good place in the summer and starting from June 15th they don’t allow our furry friends into the site. Their prejudice ends with the passing of August when our hairy progeny are allowed back in. Shame on them.

All in all Camping Jardin de las Dunas is a good site with decent facilities and attractive pricing. Most of all its location is excellent and places you right at the heart of adventure central.
