Chiringuito Volare is a very earthy kind of bar at the back of Playa Valdevaqueros; a cool place to hang out and keep the drinks flowing in the hot summer months while the kite and wind surfers do their thing in the Atlantic Ocean.
There are several seating areas outside set on raised wooden platforms which are framed to make gazebos. Flags fly overhead as the relentless wind rattles through them.
The main building at Chiringuito Volare is thatched and has a very Thai feel to it. There is always a buzz about the place too as it serves as a base for thrill seekers, wind and kite surfers and at the back of the building is a small wooden shack – Volare Windsurfing and Kite Surfing School.
The staff are well versed in English so communication is not a problem when ordering food, drinks or gleaning that vital information on the cost of kite surfing lessons.
Back to the bar and the outdoor seating areas at Chiringuito Volare are sheltered from the wind by tall hedges so even on cooler days you should still be comfortable after your beach activities. The car park nearby often plays home to wild campers who undoubtedly take advantage of the toilets.
Volare is doing well in trying to maximize its location and facilities, for what is more vital than food and drink to compliment your sunny and windy days frolicking on the beach or in the ocean?
Playa Valdevaqueros is home to several chiringuitos and Volare is the furthest from Tarifa, in a prime spot for mountain walking, beach bumming, kite surfing, drinking and relaxing.
