Rua do Crucifixo 108
Feel Rio in very central Lisbon is all about the juices. They have a vast selection in either small (€2.50) or large (€4.20). You can select from avocado, pineapple, acai, plum, banana, cashew fruit, coconut, persimmon, fig, kiwi, orange, lime, lemon, apple, papaya, mango, passion fruit, watermelon, melon, strawberry, pear, peach, grape or combinations such as orange and carrot or orange, carrot and beetroot. There are also a couple of fruits such as soursop and hog plum – that I admit I’ve never even heard of.
Not all of the juices of fresh, some are made from frozen pulp such as acai and passion fruit and some are only available seasonally – which I see as a good thing.
To your juices you can add ingredients such as ginger, guarana, whey protein, aloe vera, bee propolis, green tea, honey, soya milk, gingko biloba, ginseng, chlorophyll and green tea. These cost from €0.25 per ingredient.
There are also loads of juice combinations such as melon and pear; tangerine and mango; banana and pineapple; orange and carrot; melon and soya milk and pineapple and mint. These start from €2.50.
In addition they have salads such as citrus salmon with almonds, capers, lettuce and a choice of dressings. Or a grilled chicken Caesar salad. Vegetarians can have a caprese that contains rocket, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and basil pesto. Salads cost around €6.
They also have paninis with tomato and oregano, or ham and toasts with cheese, ham, cheese and banana or just butter.
Feel Rio is not a glamorous spot, more of a canteen than anything else, but the service is friendly, the prices are good and the juices are extremely tasty.
I love this place. It’s simple, serves healthy exotic juices and is kind to pockets.
