La Botiga del Sol health food shop – Gracia, Barcelona

La Botiga del Sol - Gracia

C/ Xiquets de Valls 9
Gràcia
08012
Barcelona

Although there is a Veritas in Gracia, this smallish organic and health food store is very attractive. As a regular consumer of health food and vegetarian items, I can never have too many options, especially when Veritas has so many holes in its range (eg coconut oil, raw honey, spirulina, raw agave syrup).

Anyway, I have no issue with shopping at separate stores, it puts me in mind of the old days (almost before I was even alive) when supermarkets didn’t exist and bread was bought from bakeries, cakes from patisseries and fruit from greengrocers etc.

This health food shop has a good range of organic vegetables and fruits available by the kilo or what have you. You can also buy dried fruit and nuts and then the usual range of health food essentials such as herbal teas, Himalayan rock salt, gorgeous olive oils, balsamic vinegars from across the country, organic chocolate bars made with varying percentages of cocoa, fair trade coffees and cocoa powders, pasta made with wholewheat or spirulina, rice noodles, milk alternatives such as rice, soya, hemp seed, almond and spelt milk and a generous range of tofu meat-substitute products such as burgers, bangers and bendy things.

You can also buy bottled juices, coconut water, herbs, spices, cookies, cakes, organic chocolate spreads, carob spreads, nut butters, eco-friendly wash products and toilet rolls and muesli and breakfast cereals.

Stock up on all your organic stuffs here. Between here, Veritas and Barcelona Reykjavik (bakery) you should be able to stock your vegan, vegetarian, or organic health food pantry without too many missing ingredients.
