Quirky Barcelona – Gracia

Mural in Gracia, Barcelona

Barcelona is not only the most beautiful city I’ve visited so far – both in Spain and the rest of the world, but it is also home to the most quirks. The Spanish way can be irritating with their slow service, arrogant driving and general loudness, but as a people they also welcome quirkiness. None more so than in Anton Gaudi’s many spectacular creations such as Parc Guell and that big hairy unfinished church.

But it’s not all about Gaudi, you don’t have to look hard in Barcelona to find charming or sometimes just plain odd idiosyncrasies.

Kookiness is everywhere in Barcelona.
