Seedy Raval in Barcelona

El Raval in pictures

El Raval in Barcelona is a barrio that still struggles to shake off its seedy reputation. With its working class neighborhood full of immigrants of every design, locutorios, Asian cornershops and English football fans (and those generally of low cunning who have drunk their weight in beer and stumbled into the wrong area unwittingly), there are still a few surprises in El Raval such as Gaudi’s Palacio Guell and some tavernas untouched by time, tourism and free wi-fi.

Bacon butties, pints of beer and English football at the Queen Vic in El Raval, Barcelona. It's just like being at home... Stay at home then. Just a thought.
