Up in Gracia (or at least on the way) you can find Sano Express, (one of several Sanos throughout Barcelona) who sell fresh fruit juices that aren’t made with sugar nor milk nor any other horribleness – unlike the juices you might find in La Boqueria – which are sadly way too tasty to not have been fucked with by somebody employed by someone other than nature.

The juices come in three sizes and are formulated from a base juice which will be either orange, apple, pineapple or carrot and will make up the majority of your juice. You can then add to this mango, strawberry, raspberry, papaya, kiwi, pear or a mix of berries.

There is a smoothie menu but unfortunately all the smoothies are made with sorbet which means they are probably suitable for vegans. (worth checking though), but will contain sugar.

You can have an apple-based smoothie like a sano classic which contains strawberry, kiwi, pear and mandarin sorbet or an antioxidant smoothie which contains strawberries, mixed berries, grapes and grapefruit sorbet.

You could also select from a couple of pineapple-based smoothies that come in either pina colada or tropical varieties and both contain coconut sorbet which should be vegan but it’s worth checking if you are a strict vegan – they might add milk those crazy Spainies.

There are also orange juice-based smoothies such as a mango and passion fruit sorbet, or a divine sounding mango and coconut sorbet.

They are fairly tasty smoothies although nowhere near awesome and they sadly don’t do vegetable juices or anything even close to a revitalising green juice, but they are fresh juices all the same.
