A delightful organic bakery in once crusty and sleazy but now fresh and bohemian El Raval. Five minutes walk from La Rambla – the main drag in Barcelona. Stunning to look at, humble staff and absolutely delightful produce.
Other branches at:
C/ Valencia 186
Massive (by Spanish standards) supermarket vending organic produce and health food supplies from fresh fruit and vegetables to exceptional quality meat and everything in between including home cleaning products, an indoor bakery and pet foods.
Another beautiful bakery and tea shop offering delicious breads some of which are organic and range from 100% spelt to sliced white bread to bread seasoned with cocoa and orange. Gorgeous cakes and sandwiches and delicious teas such as Bombay spice. Also have all-you-can-eat toast bar with an assortment of dark breads and tangy jams and marmalades for under €3.
La Rambla, 91
Nearest metro: Liceu
Spain’s most famous food market. Amazing displays of fruits and vegetables, plus stalls specialising in nuts and cheeses. (There is also meat and fish here and it can get quite graphic so wear a strong stomach.) Cheap juices in many amalgamations.
A cute little health food shop that sells supplements, the usual range of health food supplies and most impressively – Ooja Booja raw vegan ice cream.
Ronda Universitat, 20
Near Placa Catalunya
Gorgeous shop, restaurant and takeaway with a decent range of organic and health food produce. Instore bakery sells delicious breads and cakes. They do a few juices that are small and pricey but delicious.
All over Catalonia, Veritas is a supermarket that carries organic and health food supplies. Has a small instore bakery. Good range of organic fruit and vegetables. Organic meat is available as is home products, pet foods and cruelty free beauty products.
